*Being Your Own Boss And Earning That Magical 100k A Year*

Hope you are having a great week and I thought I would share a great little concept
I learned a while back during some sales and marketing training.

Working for yourself can be very challenging, and it certainly takes a certain attitude or ability to make it work. All skills are learnable but when there is no one there to hold your accountable it can be challenging.

Working for someone else is easy, in comparison as you have to be there at certain times and hopefully are monitored for your work output. You are held accountable otherwise you won't get paid or worse with the dreaded fear of being let go always looming.

But for those who are self-employed or freelance there are certain techniques you need to employ to get the most from yourself and be fair to your business goals. You need a structure and routine, one thing that has helped me is this method.

Imagine a man who is very smartly dressed and wealthy comes up and says I will pay you 100k a year if you do the following things.

You need to work 8-10 hours a day

You need to make sales and work hard at your business

You need to be committed to make it work

obviously it will be different for each of your business, but its the concept here I want to share rather than specifics.

So John says sign here, and you agree to my terms to earn 100k a year.
So you go ahead and sign and the next day, Monday your laying in bed tired and instead of starting work at 8.00 am you decide to have a snooze until 10.30 instead.

 You go into the bathroom to have a shave or put on your lipstick for our ladies here and suddenly John is stood there when you look in the mirror. He casually asks why did you start at 8.00 as we agreed?

We go through our day and meet a friend downtown and end up spending the afternoon tiling over old times over a few beers on the way home.

We call a cab, and John appears sat alongside asking how many sales or leads have I made today towards earning my 100k a year salary.

I could go on and give more examples, but you get the point, John, who is your imaginary boss, is a method of holding yourself accountable. He is like your virtual assistant. When you plan on doing something but don't follow through, he's there.

Using this method as a mind game, gives you the culpability. If your not doing what you should be doing making calls, making sales or marketing your business. We all can justify being busy, but there is a huge difference between activity and productivity.

I have known people who have a written agreement to themselves and signed it displaying it clearly where they see it every day. Some have worked it down to monthly, weekly, daily, hourly rates.

The fact is if you don't set an income goal for the year then it will be hard to aim at all. Solid businesses have predefined targets be it sales profit margins, key indicators of profit to strive towards.

So imagine the scenario and make some form of commitment to your conscious on what you're going to do to achieve your goals.

If you are losing motivation or focus, just imagine your other self saying you're not honouring our agreement to get there. Although some may pay lip service to this, being over simplistic, it works. You need to be responsible and hold yourself accountable; the pain of regret is far heavier to bear than the pain of effort.

Why Audio Is The Most Consumable Media On The Planet

Of all the media out there, the one that is most favourable is audio.
I think we are programmed from birth to be more receptive from audio. If you think back to when your were a baby, most of your learning was through what we hear. Language, movement, danger was associated with an increase in noise either from an alarm or horn or a raised voice of a worried parent.

When we learned we mimicked how others speak, the language, the accent of parents and peers. Some of us would be better if we did not listening like those in rural areas of the UK, where you have to lip read in order to understand what some people are saying.

Having been an avid student for years and reading at a blistering pace, I have always made a point of adding audio to my library. Most find that not only is it easier to assimilate as you can multitask while driving or working an audio playing in the back round it is still retained  and taken in.

Many studies have also been done on retention of information and what we hear stays in the long term memory a lot longer than reading materials as we tend to forget an estimated 50-60% of what we read.

Be under no illusion people love audio content,  it's easy to download an MP3 or podcast to your iPhone and listen to your favourite story or comedian. There has been a phenomenal  growth in  podcasting and new websites entirely focusing on audio. Here is a great video about the growth of audio in the worldwide arena and the future possibilities.  

I think this new information is not only exciting but also life changing, as the technology now enables the average person to sit down prepare a message, information or advice can produce , edit and distribute it to a huge network of people using the free mediums available.

Why Don't People Move Forward? -Towards Reaching Their Maximum Potential

Hi everyone,

In today's world there is always so much to do, we have a constant fight on our hands to keep up with our commitments from appointments, your job and family commitments. Alongside that we have we never ending flow of distraction with media, the TV, radio, social media and emails coming in daily.

People are genuinely very busy, but this is not to be confused with being productive and making progress in life. I have studied and worked with all sorts of cultures; businesses and individuals around the world and people, no matter where they're from mainly want the same main things in life.

1.   They want security for themselves and their families both financially and materialistically such as a food, clothing, a nice house, car, etc.

2.   They want to  have recognition, to feel important and that they are contributing and adding value in their life be it a great mom or a valued member of the team.

3.   They want to be challenged, to be moving towards something, to be engaged and are at their best when committed to reaching a goal or aim. This pursuit can anything from a family holiday, promotion or income level we need to be inspired and moving achievement.

When these factors are missing people suffer all sorts of problems from lack of self-esteem, depression poor health apathy of the mind and body and lack of motivation.  

So how come people are struggling now more than ever they have such a wealth of technology and information at their disposal. If you want to learn any skill from a language to how to repair your car its all available even for those who cannot access, the internet books are freely available across the many empty libraries around the globe. So lack of information is not a problem here.

So it mentally where we let ourselves down or is it the lack of some motivation factor? Well, there are lots of theories and studies have been done on Phycology and the power of the mind and body connection.

There is no doubt in the minds infinite power, and it's uses from visualisation to NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and mind programming. We have all seen the amazing transformations when someone is hypnotised it's almost as though another person has emerged.

However, with all these skills and practices peoples result are sporadic and short-lived. They achieve some improvement but then they slip back into old habits and unrewarding behaviour patterns.

So a lot of people dismiss these methods as not a worthwhile pursuit as they had tried before and failed. So from the outset this pattern is lingering in the background of their mind.

I have seen truly amazing results in individuals only for them; 6-12 months later do a U-turn back to their old self and undo all the positive changes. This behavior defies all logic and can be very disheartening for the coach or trainer.

So What It That Stops People Moving Forward towards making positive and permanent changes that stick and become a habit for life, leaving behind the old pattern never to return.

I have been in war zones and military conflicts, trained people and coached people in a lot of different areas. In those environments, people set goals and dreams and always talk about when I get back I am going to do ....

Often its after a loss of a friend or injury that brings their life to focus and reality to bear. On their return to the civilised world, all those goals and dreams subside and they settle back into a normal routine.

One instance that is particularly powerful was a friend of mine caught a tropical disease in Sierra Leone and was sent to a specialist clinic. He was seriously ill with a parasite that was feeding on his internal organs.

While at the hospital, he seen up close and personal these people who had been diagnosed with lung and mouth/ throat cancer, mainly attributed to smoking. He saw these people unable to breath without tubes and with disfigured mouth and faces; it drove home to him the dangerous effects of smoking.

On his return, he vowed and became a walking billboard on the damaging effects of smoking and pronounced he would never again smoke like he had for last 40+ years.

As you probably can guess what happened, only a week later I seen him standing outside with a cigarette, smoking again. He told me he just could not quit even after everything. I later thought I have seen this behaviour so many times and here is the reason I think it happens and the key to lasting change.

It's because we have become too COMPLACENT.

Sometimes Leaping Blindly Can End Very Badly

It's far too easy for us not to do the important things; we are so fortunate to have food, water, and so many luxuries compared to some countries. People today overindulge in everything from food, drugs, sex, and spending.
We see this in the astronomical rise in Obesity in developed countries around the world. We tend to focus in instant gratification and if we want something we get it no matter what the consequences. We take the easy route and most never make a strong commitment anymore, but rather try or see how it works out or give things a trial run. We need only again look at the pattern in relationships, with the divorce rate sky high to see how people attitudes have changed over time.

Brian Tracy a master of success states that 10,000 hours is required to master any subject, thousands of studies back up his finding, but many people struggle to commit just a fraction of that. They rarely throw themselves into something completely and with 100% devotion, but instead lose focus and jump around to the next thing or course.

It's like starting a business; it's estimated that it takes at least two years to get it set up to a solid and scalable model properly. Some people want to make money within two weeks or 2 months, which can be done, but in the majority of cases it does not happen.

We need to change our expectations and take a more committed approach. We should be like a king who invaded the distant shores and burned his ships telling his armies "we win the battle, or we will never see home again."

If we stop taking the easy route out and commit to our goals and dreams a 100%, we will accomplish amazing results. Like Robert Kennedy, another master of production and success states "Work on One Thing At A Time & Do It To The Best You Can."
 
One way to reinforce this commitment is to have towards and away goals or drivers. Meaning think of all the Negatives that will happen if it's not done. These can be more powerful that toward goals, which are also essential to do.

Examples are, do you want to continue risking your health by smoking with the possible result being lung cancer or throat or mouth cancer? Go visit a hospital ward to see these people who sadly made the wrong choices and whose lives and families are ruined.

Go see an obesity clinic and see the reduced quality of life with people unable to care or look after themselves due to being trapped in their bodies.

Go visit a homeless shelter and see people who in some cases made catastrophic failings in managing their finances and now have to depend on others for survival. Although these images are hard hitting if you don't make the hard decisions now, if not When?

Think long and hard and honestly about where your heading and what consequences may await you as everything counts your health, finances its all important to think otherwise is naive remember nothing is as sobering as your mortality you only have a short time in which to act as one day may be too late

We are sadly becoming a more selfish society, in spite of the abundance the majority have. We even see people turn their back on their children now for their personal gain or needs. It is interesting to note that in the animal kingdom this is the strongest and most primal instinct of the mother to protect your offspring. It's disturbing that people have learned to turn off this primal function and leave their children without protection, care or food, seen sadly all too often in today's media.

So make some iron-clad commitments, and it will add incredible focus and drive to your life,  but nothing will happen without taking ACTION so don't put your life on hold or be the person who takes the easy route.

Remember nothing is as sobering as your mortality you only have a short time in which to achieve the things you want in life, as one day may be just too late.

Fully Engage in Life and it may astound you, where you end up.

To Your Success

The Two Personality Types & The Ant Philosophy

Having worked with a lot of people over the years both in the military often seen as a boiling pot of young talent to working with businesses throughout the globe there are always two main types of people we see.

People are complex, and we are all unique individuals, but two personality traits always shine through no matter what the situation be it having challenges with their business or being in high-stress situations such as a conflict or working exceptionally long hours.

So let's give you an example we all can relate to, meetings are a fact of everyone's life - be it in work as a staff meeting or a boardroom business meetings. Most of us have all lost countless hours sitting in meeting discussing how much work needs to be done, but just spent half the day in a meeting that resulted in not getting a lot done.

So you have two people: Mick and John, both of equal intellect and status, you simply ask them to arrange a meeting room for say 11.00am Monday with refreshments and all items required a whiteboard, markers, handouts, pens and such like that's the task.

Now depending on their attitude and approach two things will happen you will turn up at 11.00 am and it will be all good to go so you can get on and cover all areas swiftly and get moving. The alternative result and more likely these days the room is locked or been double booked and the meeting has to be offset or rescheduled.

So let's look at potentially could happen here, well both got the task, but Mick went and seen the meeting room, and found it was locked. He tried to locate the keys, but the guy who had the key was off sick that day. He may have asked a few people but got no joy, he also checked to see if window or another access was available.

Given that he believes that he explored options he gives up on the task and does not follow through on booking refreshments or give feedback to management that a problem has arisen.

He then puts the task to the back on his mind and says he will try tomorrow again. Next day Mick is sent on a driving job to the airport and is taken off base the entire day.

He also fails to delegate the task to someone else to sort meeting out - the result is a massive fail come Monday 11.00 when 10-15 people turnup  only to be rather embarrassing told it’s not happening.    

Now John, on the other hand, once given the task, takes 2 minutes after to write down details and what is required liaise with the cookhouse for refreshments, cutlery, etc., what equipments he needs to source whiteboard markers, stationery, etc.

He then goes to the venue of meeting to see the layout, the door is locked, as before with Mick, but John follows the trail also to find key person is missing that day, he tried to locate another access but also finds the window locked,

He next thinks all buildings are maintained by public works department and that they keep spare keys in case of fire or lost keys so they can get another one cut; he phones round contacts the caretaker and gets access to the spare key.

He then access the room checks layout and gets a few guys to help him source the equipment needs he sets room up and also delegates responsibly to others to say pick up sandwiches and cutlery at 10.00 Monday.

John also prepares the tables and layout to ensure everything ready to rock and roll. He also holds on to key and secures room once he's ready placing a note on the door to inform of upcoming meeting. Sure enough, when 11.00 am comes around everything is swift and efficient, and the meeting is a blinding success.

So what the difference in Mike and John, is John super clever or a better person, no, not really the factor that makes him more valuable is his attitude and mindset he's got what I refer the Ant Philosophy, mentioned by the late Jim Rohn, a great man.

Most will have seen the picture of a child or nature guy holding an ant in the palm of his hand and trying to control its movement, usually fruitlessly as the ant will go over, under, through - he will find a way or die trying to get the food back to the nest.

We see this to extreme with the migration of Army ants in Africa where they literally destroy everything in their path, systematically covering huge areas with nothing in their path surviving, crossing huge rivers building a raft of ants so others can use their bodies to get over, etc.

I am not saying that you become so ferocious that you leave a path of destruction where every you've been, as some do, but rather have the tenacity that no obstacle will stand in your way. They are like test walls put up to see how much you want it, are you going to stay on that side of the door / wall or will you employ the ant philosophy to get under, over through, no matter what.

The others out there who lack this mental fortitude and the resolve to commit and say I am going to do it always seem to have problems but rarely look inward but blame , condemn and criticise everyone else. They blame the factors like the person who was sick, why were they not in work? Or why is the window not open? Etc its all the wrong approach.

The key is to deliver no matter what always do more than expected, put the extra effort in no matter what the task. It is often quoted that we leave our signature on everything we do.

So adopt the attitude to raise the level of commitment and make it a habit give everything in life 110% you relationships,your business, health, etc. Pretty soon it's automatic, and you will amaze the level of competency you have. This habit will reaffirms your confidence, and you will tackle bigger problems and solutions seem to present themselves as a matter of response

The Corridor Principal

In a 12-year study into the reasons for success, researchers concluded that virtually all success was based on what they called the “corridor principle.”

They likened achieving success to proceeding down a corridor in life. Each of us stands at the entrance to this corridor, looking into the darkness, and we see the corridor disappear into the distance. The researchers said that the difference between the successes and the failures in their study could be summarised by the one word - action !

Successful people were willing to move themselves down the corridor of opportunity without any guarantee of what would occur. They were willing to risk uncertainty and overcome the normal fears and doubts that hold the great majority in place.

And the remarkable thing is that as you move down the corridor of life, new doors of opportunity open up on both sides of you. However, you would not have seen those doors if you had not moved down the corridor. They would not have opened up for you if you had waited for some assurance before stepping out in faith and taking action.

The saying “A journey of a thousand leagues begins with a single step” simply means that great accomplishments begin with your willingness to face the inevitable uncertainty of any new enterprise and step out boldly in the direction of your goal.

Wordpress Security Tips To Help You Stay Secure

Here are some quick tips to help boost your internet security with a wordpress website

There are several types of hacks from a basic redirect, placing malware on site or a brute force attack where they take your site down completely. This is rare but well worth protecting yourself as much as possible. 

As with all things if they are determined to crash your site. It can be very difficult to protect the site 100%, but this will certainly make it more of an undertaking, as hackers look for easy targets first. 

Here are some key places to start...

Never use ADMIN as the default user name change it to something unique to you. If you want to super secure you can get an autogenerated   user name to create a more hack safe one with number characters and symbols, etc. 

If you have used admin you can change it, with a specific plugin called admin name extender or through your Cpanel.

Always ensure you keep you versions of Wordpress up to date as often the fix and upgrade the security within the update.There is also a plugin to automate this (https://wordpress.org/plugins/automatic-updater/)

Install a plugin called limit login attempts (https://wordpress.org/plugins/limit-login-attempts/ )

as this has a useful feature that can auto lockout and repeated attempts to access your site for up to 48 hours to that IP once they have tried x amount of times. This also stops automated software from trying to crack the codes as it will also disable it. 

Install all in one security suites to Wordpress to boost its security

Two proven ones are,

For the control of spam on you comments on the blog for example, install Amisket ( http://akismet.com) which is a free service and works brilliantly.

For passwords, I would recommend (https://lastpass.com) as highly military grade encryption and also has a random password generator alternatively here is another link to one (http://passwordsgenerator.net)

There are also some monthly subscription hostings especially for Wordpress that handle all this for a nominal fee the highest rated being WP Engine.

Now I appreciate it's not what 99% of people out there will tell you, and probably not what you want to hear, but its a FACT and just ask 100 of your closest friends or marketers if they have made money easily online?

I have studied very hard over the years, including marketing, business, finance, and followed most top marketers to their final destinations; the result typically being high level coaching or memberships.

With the top tier being one on one mentoring which is more of a selection process than anything else, sort of bordering on entry to an exclusive club, not short of selling you soul as some have found out to their cost.

The one key tool you need to hold develop and retain is self-confidence and confidence in the fact this can and does work, and you will be challenged daily. Not just in the business world but in your circle of friends, your family, co-workers and socially.

Those of you involved in network marketing will face particular challenges with rejection, and the constant no thank you, or no don't ever mention it to me again are common place.

You will have to build a sort of mental barrier and dismiss those who put you down. It can come in all forms a jibe comment or joke from a friend it all sticks. You need to be thick skinned and reinforce the fact it does work and make your mind a fortress of resolve. The resolve you are going to do it!

The reason I mention this is I see it daily where a person's hopes, dreams and desires get crushed sometimes by those closest to them. I see it creeping in and slowly grabbing hold, and suddenly the plan or project is put down never to be picked up again.

It's like stepping off the treadmill its hard to get back on again. When you don't have this solid confidence, you will not give 100% to your business or plan you won't run the ads, get the video done or write the copy. You need to have a concrete belief you can do this and really shut out all thoughts of failure or it will grow and really hold you back.

I always follow launches, not as a buyer, but as a student, to see the process and how they do business.

You can learn a lot from this one practice, I recently followed a new email product called “The machine," which was informative, adding good value and list segregation is highly important in email marketing.

Unfortunately, the reason email marketing has gotten such a bad rap, and very poor response rates lately is? simply from unethical marketing.

Anyone who's on a few email lists can see this daily occurrence, people are just abusing the concept of permission marketing.

Some previous top marketers who used to add value switch to everyday product emails and have to their cost burned their list and had to start fresh, completely destroying their list relationship.

The main reason I follow launches is to read comments and see where peoples perception is towards both product and market.

Recently this one comment jumped off the page; it quoted “ people don't give a damn about adding value or quality anymore, they just want to make money now no matter what “

Now this elderly lady was sadly, so right, but her attitude was almost defensive of it, as if she was approving that was they way to be.

It’s like saying, everybody else is ripping people off so I’m going to join them and buy this so I can learn to follow suit and get my share.

What on earth is she thinking, what attitude to have in life, very sad and negative and unlikely to bring her the success she NEEDS. You need to provide service and value to be successful; it's nothing to do with needing its just not how it works.

So lets move on to how to make money ethically and the various ways you can do it and add value at the same time

To make money online, you need to understand exactly how the majority of money is being made from internet business, and it can comes down to just 7 Primary ways.

1.   Affiliate Marketing
2.   Information Products
3.   Business Opportunities
4.   Network Marketing (MLM)
5.   CPA Marketing
6.   Consultancy
7.   E-commerce

We will look briefly at each of these areas to give you an understanding of what they are and if it suits your choice of one or more to start your path towards making money online.

1.    Affiliate marketing

This model is probably most widely used method to make money online, this means you can sell other people’s products or services and then make a commission for what you sell.

This commission can be 100% on lower priced items to 40-75% on the back end higher priced items  - this is an easy way and where most people start, Mike has kindly set up an affiliate program here for LFP so make sure you utilise this opportunity.

2.    Information Products

Many affiliates sell information products. However the real money is in creating and selling your own information product and then get other affiliates to sell your product creating a money generating asset.

We see this all the time with products like Video genesis or the latest webinar product. The process gets a little more complicated when creating your own product or service but can be worth the investment if you have a great idea or concept.

3.    Business Opportunities

Making money with business opportunities (referred to as Biz Ops) is usually the easiest and fastest way for one to get started because they are appealing to so many, and much of the “hard” work is already done for the member.

These are typically represented by the flashy websites and claim of fast & easy riches - not my choice personally but there is a huge market segment out there who continuous hunt and skip looking for the goose that lays the golden egg :). The disadvantages of these Biz Ops are they usually have a very short half-life.

4.    Network Marketing

Commonly known as MLM (also stated as Many Lose Money) These can be huge money makers because of relatively small investment, and you make a small portion of every sale made in your downline.

The problem is you need such a large downline and the fall off or attrition rate is so high that you must continue to recruit large numbers to build your business.

The Network Marketing model is best suited to leaders or the highly dedicated as takes a lot of work and time but can work for the right people, as potentially unlimited earrings. The more product or service you and your downline make the more you earn.

5.    CPA Marketing

This model is a less commonly known, CPA meaning Cost Per Acquisition or Action, this industry has grown into an incredibly lucrative way of adding extra revenue into your pocket. Global Brands have now realised the power of ref feral and will pay you handsomely.

Similar to affiliate marketing except there is no requirement to make a sale, but get rewarded $50-$100 just to get a lead or email. This area can produce serious results if done correctly and should be on your list to find out more.

6.    Consulting

One problem the exists today is information overload, and it has given rise to a phenomenal growth in the demand for consultants on business, finance, marketing, social media managers, pretty much every industry with huge budgets available in most.

The predictions in growth alone by the year 2020 are just staggering with spending in the Trillion’s of Dollar. Positioning yourself correctly now can lead to high-income streams in the future, almost guaranteed. Learning valuable skills and investing in being someone of value can pay you huge dividends in the future.

Finally, we have a growing industry that recently has seen unprecedented attention with Amazon & Ebay changing the way we do business daily.

7.    E-commerce
This is probably the most widely used model online used by the masses, but your opportunity to be on the receiving end as a vendor has now Never in the history of the world has it been so easy to get involved that's a bold statement I know, but absolutely true.

Anything sold online through retail from food, clothing, tools, diamonds to extremely high-priced items is through an E-commerce platform it no longer is reserved for the ultra rich its possible to buy in now for less than $30 month to launch a global fully functioning store.

We all have heard of and use Amazon, Ebay, and countless others but now due to advances Amazon will hold your stock and dispatch it all for you how crazy is that. This industry especially with China opening up to market has now given the average person the opportunity of al lifetime as long as you have the skills and method to leverage it correctly.

So there you have seven main ways to earn online income, there are others, but all come under the umbrella of these, in some shape or form. You now have a better understanding  on how to build your 6-Figure Online Business.

I will let you know that there will be bumps in the road, and your success will be determined on how you react to those challenges.

The little secret is that everyone can do this and make it work IF, they treat this as a REAL business, find people to work with that will help and support you AND have quality products, services and opportunities to offer.

Don’t join the unethical marketers or people who exploit those out there. as every day we throw the boomerang. Once you throw it, it will always come back; it may take weeks, months, years but it will always come back.

So do the right thing build a business that is ethical and that you are proud of, something you can pass on to your offspring and stand proud of what you built.

Why Sometimes Returning To The Basics Is The Best Way Forward

Having been online for a number of years now I am continually surprised how confusing the internet has become. Even for seasoned marketers who have extreme discipline it's hard not to go chasing the next new trend or getting caught up in the infinite barrage of product launches.

Recently I have stopped all marketing and business efforts to take stock of the best way forward. In the past I have been involved in network marketing, retailing both offline and online through e-commerce platforms along with affiliate promotions and selling services such as web design and consultancy.

With all the options out there, only a few being mentioned above it can be very hard to choose your poison, so to speak as you don't want to devote all your time and effort into something, only to find it's not the best use of your time and energy.

I know one thing that is a 100% confident to be your best use of your time online and in the offline world also. It is building your list of like-minded people who are interested in the particular area of expertise and that you can connect with and help out.

The success of any endeavour or business is directly proportionate to the amount of people you can help and provide quality service to them. Having followed some on the best marketers and successful people for years their best method of delivery is still through email.

It doesn't matter if it's a text version, newsletter or link to their Youtube channel. Along with that most of the items we buy have been delivered to us through email, sure there's a lot of spam and BS but so has the local newspaper or TV channels for that matter.

So if I was to advise anyone to start doing anything to do with your business or idea or marketing online the first and most important place to start with would be beginning with building your list of people to connect within your chosen area.

Aim to add value in everything you do and don't ever be the person recommending a new product every day as it just does not work like that. So decide today to focus on where it matters, you will come full circle and end up doing it at the end, that is another certainty, be it in the months, years ahead as all great businesses and successful projects firmly establish building a relationship as part of their service,so you may as well start off on the right footing towards your success.

Brazil, The World Cup & Why We Should Be Grateful For What We Have

I recently watched the program with a presenter called Ross Kemp called Extreme World. It featured the people of the streets of Brazil and in particular the drug culture there within the "Crackland" affecting nearly one million people whose whole life now revolves around getting their next fix of crack.

This program was particularly hard hitting as the mothers, and grandmothers roamed the streets trying desperately  to find their lost sons and daughters. There were people there from all parts of society from professionals to visiting tourist who fell into the trap.

The ages ranged from 10 years old to 70 year old, including pregnant mothers. This documentary was filmed before the World Cup with a major clean up operation launch to try and hide the truth from the visiting tourist who are only a few miles across the streets.

We are so fortunate to have the control  of our lives and be protected from such perils and to have the right to decide what we do in life. These unfortunate people are given crack samples free and instantly are hooked into the lifestyle.The then enter the world of depravity and damage to their health; the money involved is astronomical with corruption in every area, all getting rich on the misfortune and suffering of others.

In the US and elsewhere in the developed countries opportunity to progress, expand, improve our lives is everywhere, and are protected by our own education and common sense. We also have the good fortune of  the various law enforcement agencies who try to do something to curb the balance in our favour. Ultimately it comes down to individual choice, and one are where ignorance is certainly not bliss.

Some of these people who make the drug for pennies are working 24 hours a day were under the impression the were making a drug to aid the military to make them better soldiers in times of fighting. This is what they had been told by their employers.

In the UK, I regularly see people complaining how hard life is even though they get money for nothing without working in a lot of cases with stories of a father of some 25 kids all from multiple partners earning £800 a week on the social system never working a day in his 20 years.

People need to take responsibility for where they are and ultimately where they are not, we are too quick to criticise, condemn and complain and blame everyone for our circumstances. We see this in people's health, finances, living conditions and looking after their children or often sadly mistreating their kids.

We have to realise how fortunate we are and look about at what you have, not constantly dwell and envy on what others have. This  causes nothing but resentment and frustration. Lots of people wait and think religion and divine intervention will save the day, but it all starts with you and deciding to live a better life and have an attitude of gratitude and expectation. I have travelled the world and seen some horrific living conditions and poverty beyond belief and people most who have not had that experience will never understand how fortunate they are, despite their circumstance.

If you're not happy with you current circumstances in life, decide to take control and make the changes towards a better life. The truth is no one is ever going to come knocking on your door and do it for you you need to seek it out and grab hold of it. Of course, there will be challenges as that's all part of life but if you look towards your future and do nothing it will be the same.

Don't be like the people who are no longer able to decide and can only focus on their next fix of crack like the living dead with little or no hope of ever breaking free. Sometimes we don't realise how precious the free things in life are until they are taken from you, be fortunate for what you have and decide today to make the most of your god given talents and abilities. Alife full of regret is the hardest thing ever to reflect on so make the most of yours starting with your attitude towards life.

Before Jumping Into Marketing Online - First Lead With The Product

One common problem that constantly raises it head when selling online products or services online is...

Lots of people try to start earning online income by coming up with ideas and new plans to launch something new or unique. Often it can be a lot easier and smarter to first find something that is already selling incredibly well and decide that this is what you're going to promote, and design your marketing around it.

As humans, we have a tendency to overcomplicate things and also try to reinvent the wheel but have you ever noticed how many hairdressers or pizza places there are all earning great incomes. If there are 10 -20 of those businesses in your town or city, how do they all make money quickly and consistently?
Answer by they all have a particular target and look after their customers in a particular way.

Some have better customer service, hotter pizzas, cooler haircuts, etc. each one is slightly better at one part of their service or selling their products. Dominoes for example promised "hot pizza delivered to you in under 30 minutes"

The best way to be successful in a business is to find and market to an already hungry crowd, people who will buy on demand. We can see this trend with seasonal items or whenever Apple or some high tech firm releases a new product with people queuing for hours before its even available, each niche has it's group of fans and buyers. Above all else if you provide a product with a high demand, you will get sales and buyers, check on Google and see what people want first. You still need to set up your campaign to supply this quality service or service and give the customer a good experience.

So try to design or reverse engineer your business and first lead with a product or service you know there is a huge hungry crowd, ready and waiting. Look at the various industries and niches some have huge potential for green energy to personal development. Then find the top selling products and service and if they have an affiliate or partner programs.

This process can save you months of time and wasted effort, I see businesses and individuals all the time, who do not adequate conduct enough market research and then struggle to make sale. Before investing your valuable time and effort just take the time out to first analyse what selling in your chosen field and if you too can capitalise on it, providing a high quality products and great service - you will be glad you did.

The Power of Keeping A Journal & Why It’s Your Best Tool For Success

Been away on some great high level training lately in London, if I could share tool I have used over 15 + years, that would make a significant difference to your life, what would it be?

Well, the winning answer has to be To Keep A Personal Journal

Now people get slightly confused and think if it as a dairy. Something we use for scheduling or writing down our feelings on a daily basis. The truth is a journal is something entirely different and if used currently is more of an extension of your mind, sounds deep, I know but let me explain.

Your memory although can be very good in some cases, will always let you down, you will lose your tasks, thoughts and ideas, we all have had a great idea come to us while doing some mundane task and then it faded away to the depths never to return.

The same can occur with our intentions and plans, this is where a journal comes into its own it.The perfect journal should be strong, and ideally leather bound, so your pages don’t fall out and lose a potentially lucrative idea or action step.

Some people have slips of paper, loose leaf pages and all sorts of notes, but most of these will fall by the wayside or get lost for sure. Being organised is important, and you should treat your journal as something of value.

So how do you use a journal as most people are unsure, a journal is a living tool to record your plans, progress, ideas, projects and manage your life.

The most important detail is to record dates location and events on the top of the page so you can use it to measure your progress or lack of it. Not putting dates in or specific details causes the entry to have no point of reference.

For example, writing the statement "I want to lose 20lbs in bodyweight" on the page with no date attached cannot be measured -simple, but also a common mistake. The same error could show up for wanting to earn a fixed sum of money if no date attached, it's not measurable.

You can look back and see all your goals and outstanding tasks with a timeline and reprioritise them to get the most important ones done.

I also do a weekly sweep up of what was accomplished and what I need to focus on next week; this can be highly beneficial and not relying on your memory is key, as it frees up your mental ram once your brain sees it backed up. Some people are worrying far too much stuff in their head when entering it into their journal will do a far better job and take some pressure off too.

Your journals become highly valuable as when you complete a project with all the fine details. You can use it again as a historical reference guide on what you did right, wrong and what can be improved.

It can also add to your confidence when you look back on what you have accomplished. People have been able to use that information to produce a resume or assist in dealing with some emergency that popped up.

Succesful people think on paper that is a fact having dealt with many over years. Its a common theme and they are always writing and thinking. It's good to do a sweep up on all open loops you have and write them down be systematic and go through areas like finances, relationship, business, health, etc. If you have not done so already, set your ideal goals in these areas and look at often remind yourself why you're doing all this.

Lots of people use electronic versions on laptop, mobiles, etc. but personally I have found it not to be as effective. The problem is devices go flat,  get problems, lose data, etc. The old pen and paper are far more reliable.

Make a habit of having a journal with you most of the time or ion the car as you never know when you'll get sone great idea or be waiting for an appointment and have time to plan or review your progress.

I have personally along with those I worked with in past who adopted the practice found a journal to be the single best tool in self management and aid to keep things on track.

My recommendation is to go and buy a decent A4 size one and implement it in your life it will pay you back ten fold. If you need more direction go to iTunes and purchase the audio by the Great Jim Rohn “How To Use A Journal” may also be on Youtube free.

Finally, those who do this will get great value and although a simple idea and concept it works exceptionally well. Only yesterday at a meeting I noticed people who were trying to rely on their memory to remember a huge amount of information.

Only to find on the 2nd day review that they had lost 90% of the information covered. If they were smart and took some good notes in their journal, they would not have lost that valuable information.

Building A Strong Foundation of Key Skills

Hi,

This week I have been working with a lot of business from fitness trainers, web designers to travel agencies and regrettably the fundemental skill sets that are essential for any business are blatantly missing

Basic knowledge of people, sales, marketing, self management  and communication skills, also letting their frustrations show through in their attitude and style not bad language per say just a negative tone and perception as if its everyone else's fault their business is not a success.

A few people have read my post and know that honesty is crucial to me, and I always try to straight down the line with people.

Sometimes it involves great tact to get across a point to a business owner, that it may be their fault, especially with some of the egomaniacs out there, who never look inward.

The problem is if you have not mastered the basics of communication and a little bit of people phycology on how we all work,  its very difficult to connect with anyone at any level of influence

The same goes for other necessary skills if you have no idea of how to make a sale its going to be a tough road ahead.

Being lucky enough myself to have worked in many places over the world with many cultures, and one common need is they all desire respect, good communication and compassion.

It does not mean you're a pushover, just that you treat them properly, and they will work hard with or for you.

If your brand new or a season business owner, presumed knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

I know guys in the business who have very limited skills in any area does that mean they are successful?  No, certainly not, money on its own does not equal success.

A good practice is to do a self audit on your skills and be 100% honest as your only fooling yourself.

If you don't know anything about traffic, say so.. If your are a very poor communicator via email or verbally it all counts.

How is your sales and marketing knowledge?

How is your self discipline?

I had a friend who wanted me to become his business partner but his communication is shocking and his attitude towards his customers was derogatory to put it mildly

I turned him down flat as clashed with my values and beliefs, and did not want to be part of something like that.

The basic skills we all need are people skills, how to communicate effectively both in voice and through correspondence. He need to have a good grasp on sales philosophy and why people buy.
This one area, is something people shy away from, but nothing in the world happens until a sale is made no bread no milk, etc. just think about that for a minute.

With the internet you need to know some basics about domain names, hosting , how to set up a page or site... all learnable skills on Youtube or Google for free

Take responsibility for our own skills and do not rely on anyone to cover the basics as they should really be in place already. I don't say that to put people off, but if you are to build a stable business you need a strong foundation.

You need confidence in yourself and a desire to get there, saying OK, I'll  try this or I'm confused and staying there just won't cut it. If you want to brand yourself you need to put the effort in, get out there on Youtube put your picture in your profile and take action

I could tell you a hundred stories of business and people who I have tried to help, but they failed because of the lack of the fundamentals and self discipline.

My suggestion is that need to get those down, none of them are beyond your potential and other people will help,  if you only ask and reach out but don't expect them to do it all for you

As the Great Jim Rohn use to say "You Can't Carry 3" so take a self audit today where are you strong and where are your weak areas then set aim to improve those skills -

The result is you will be a more confident and well-rounded person and it will help your business and income goals come within your reach a lot sooner.

Information Overload How to Beat It & Turning Off The So Called Guru’s.

One point I would like to mention which is really important and anyone who has spent time online researching or trying to find answers has come across, it is the all too familiar point of...

Information Overload.

The Web Today is Full of It....

It can be very hard for the new person or experienced marketer or any internet user on deciding just who to listen to online you subscribe to numerous list for additional information and suddenly your inbox is bursting at the seams with email subject lines like:

Make 10K in the Next 10 Days!
Another 4K today as I watched television!
250k per annum...would that be of interest to you.

I have followed these so called Gurus and tried to contact many of them personally through support and various means only to find they are untouchable, and you get redirected all over the place.

One point I must mention, I do not expect them to reply personally as appreciate and respect they are extremely busy, but their support can let them down also and not even acknowledge your email that is all I ever ask for so I know they got it, that's all.

I know and have worked with a lot of millionaires who do and can find time to talk and help you and have got emails and had a beer with many so don't ever be afraid to ask.

My advice to you is turn off the noise into your life and get back to work. One quote that I have written on my desk is “If it is to be its up to me” as no one is going to bring success to your door you need to stand guard at the gates to your mind and don’t let negative info come into your domain.

Just as we find ourselves watching some lame program on the TV, we switch over to something better, and that annoying or negative influence no longer affects us.

I cannot stress enough how important it is that you keep you focus, and the last thing you need is some guys stating he has just earned another 20k while you had a cup of tea or in my case a Budweiser.

The problem with information overload is it does affect you, even if you think you are not taking any notice, it seeps in. It is enough to see these email headers you do not have to read the content. It can have a negative effect on your progress and also cause you to beat yourself up as everyone else is making all this money but why are you struggling - the result most thing this is not for them and quit

It's so easy to do and people quit at everything these days as it’s an easy route and the human race is getting more accustomed to “easy” with all the technology and comforts we now have. So it almost has become a habit if something is hard or difficult find an easier way or quit finding something easier - that's just the way things are going.

Email is the most common means of information into our lives from the internet although social media is now taking over through Facebook and Twitter. My suggestion is get a new email account from Googlemail which has unlimited storage and the only let those people who are positive and have quality input know your new email then set some filters so all your emails are auto sorted into relevant folders

You can then pick and chose at your leisure, just who to listen to, and I respect some of the so called Gurus, but the problem with some of these claims is most are screen shots or photoshopped it is far better to see live footage.

I have no doubt there are great incomes being made on the internet, but there are also allot of smoke and mirrors of people claiming one thing, but the reality is very different. Anyone who insults you intelligence with claims of Get Rich Quick or just do this and sit back and watch the money roll in is seriously wasting your time. The older I get, the less notice I take of what people do but let their actions speak for themselves.

So create a new email account it’s FREE and only let those who have a positive benefit your mind into your life. I for one cannot watch the SAW movies although I appreciate some of the clever plots, they are far too gory for me, so I don’t watch them ever.

This point has helped me ignore a lot of the bull on the Internet, drastically cut down on Information Overload and keeps me working towards my goals without being distracted thinking why have I not made my first million yet.

You need to learn new skills and invest some hard work in order to make money online, it is an enormous opportunity and still brand new despite what people think.

My name is Simon Byrne and have recently finished a busy career in the military serving all over the world as a senior manager / engineer working in all sorts of conditions from Basra Palace to the steamy jungles of South America.


I have always had an entrepreneurial strip ever since I started receiving a CEO'S mail sent to the wrong address but with the same name as mine, as a young kid. This induction got me thinking at only 9 years old, WOW, how cool would it be to run my own company, after all I already had one named after me.

Success really is a journey, even though it’s been tough on the wallet and the brain cells at times trying to fit it all in without my head exploding, as one of the grenades I once threw.


Thankfully I now only fight the endless stream of information on the web and try to help as many people as I can. I was always to go-to-guy in my previous businesses & jobs, putting out the fires whenever needed, no matter what.


My key skill I have is a good head for standing back, take everything apart and fix it, it might be my engineering back round and I was an outstanding student (not being bigheaded at all ) just that I made the grade.

Now if there is one thing I could do better than most - it would be the ability to "Calm The Whirlwind" meaning taking complex problems or scenarios and getting them down to the cause or issue.

When it come to business, and the internet people are being mislead, mis sold, and downright getting their ass kicked when coming to find out about IM and how it all works. I want to try and help people see through the trees to the other side and try to show them the way through the minefield out there.

Do I know it all, of course not, but have studied hard and put stuff to work and have found out some great info along the way.I am a very straight shooter and have always been I will be 100% honest with you and hope my advice at least helps some people out there avoid the many pitfalls and shorten the journey


I am keen to post on this blog and share some entertaining stories with you along the way. You are all outstanding people, and my mission is to give exceptional, no BS advice in this age of technology and information overload.

Today we all have a special love, hate relationship with this internet thing, there is no doubt the Internet has revolutionised the world, it can be both a shark pit or place of great resource and a force for good.

There are rogues in every field in life, and the trick is to stay clear of those at all costs. The battle of good vs. evil is always ongoing, but with the right guidance, it can be a battle won, and it's here you can join me to support a better way forward.
